Concord River Greenway:
Red Milkweed Beetle browsing on milkweed leaves. Their
young will feed on the roots and stems. Milkweed is also
where Monarch Butterflies lay their eggs, one egg per
plant, as to allow for each larva to have an immediate
food supply.

181 West Meadow: This
well camouflaged Bull Frog is a happy camper, lounging
and feeding in this vernal pool. Vernal pools are small
bodies of freshwater filled by runoff and groundwater.
Because they usually dry up by the end of summer they
are fishless, allowing for a multitude of invertebrates
and amphibians to flourish.
