Did you know that the Spalding House was built circa 1760 and is Lowell’s third oldest home?

Visit this colonial museum during an open house to discover the history of the property and its unique connection with Pawtucket Falls and the Merrimack River.  You’ll learn how the relationship between people and the river has shifted over the years; from providing abundant fish to abundant hydro-power.

Explore this relationship, and more, as we open up the Spalding House for self-guided tours and family-friendly activities, usually the second Sunday of every month.

Our Second Sunday program in March:

Join us on Sunday, March 9th, between 2 PM and 4 PM for a fascinating look into the role of taverns and inns during the colonial era. This month’s program explores their history, with a special focus on the Spalding House’s past as a tavern and inn. Plus, enjoy an exhibit showcasing the art of spinning fabrics.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with history in Lowell!
