We are in an era where sustainability and environmental stewardship are of the greatest importance. Lowell has taken bold and visionary steps towards a greener and more sustainable future but there is much left that we can do. The Lowell Sustainability Council is dedicated to finding positive steps and taking meaningful actions to mitigate the worst effects of the climate crisis.

Please join us at our annual Sustainability Summit (agenda) where we explore the possibilities under the theme Moving Lowell Forward Together.

This year’s Keynote Speaker will be John Wooding, Professor Emeritus, Department, who will speak to the goal of moving the City, the Lowell Sustainability Council, and the University on a common path towards a more sustainable and resilient community.

Coffee and snacks will be served in the morning and there will be a luncheon served. The event is free and open to all. Come share your ideas and energy to help us move Lowell forward!

Youth, ages 8-18 are eligible to apply for the Youth & Climate Change Action awards: Do you care about the environment and want to take action? This is your chance to lead the change right here in Lowell. Here’s a list of Topics & Resources and potential Project Ideas that may be helpful.

The Sustainable Lowell Awards are another opportunity to have your work recognized.
