Last year, hundreds of thousands of river herring returned to the Merrimack River from the sea.

Learn how many make it back to the Sudbury, Concord, and Assabet Rivers and the challenges they face.

Meet an elver that swam 2000 miles “home” to the Concord River and how long it takes to grow into an American eel.

Take a rare opportunity to tour a fishway at the Centennial Island Hydroelectric Project Dam. These fish depend upon passage between marine and freshwater habitats to complete their life cycle and efforts are underway to improve their access to all three rivers.

Learn about the work of the Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust to return river herring to the SuAsCo watershed.

Led by our partners at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Restoration Center.
