to receive support and resources

Boston, MA (December 12, 2022) – The Social Innovation Forum (SIF) has selected Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust (LP&CT) to participate in SIF’s 2023 “Social Innovator Accelerator,” a 24-month capacity-building program that helps nonprofit organizations gain visibility, expand their networks, and connect with philanthropic and in-kind resources to accelerate their work.

As a 2023 Social Innovator, the Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust will receive access to cash and in-kind services, including training, coaching, and consulting, from SIF and its partners. SIF selected LP&CT based on its unique approach to addressing environmental justice and creating community through conservation.

“As the Social Innovation Forum approaches its 20th anniversary, we remain committed to mobilizing resources and connections that allow impactful social change to flourish,” said Director of Programs Tanya Inwald at the Warm Winter Welcome. “Today, we welcome our newest cohort of Social Innovators. For those of you who are funders and potential skilled volunteers – we ask that you introduce yourself to our Innovators, learn about their remarkable work, and find ways to support them in achieving their missions.”

About the Social Innovation Forum

The Social Innovation Forum (SIF) is a Boston-based connector and catalyst committed to building social change. SIF provides training and networks to grassroots, community-led social good organizations, funders, and skilled volunteers – aligning the strengths and passions of investors and social impact organizations to more effectively address complex social issues. We do this work through what we have come to call “a marketplace approach” to social change – one that engages a diverse array of stakeholders in collaborating to accelerate purposeful, positive social change locally. This transparent process allows access to information, creates a large pool of organizations and leaders who are known and able to be found and funded, and begins to decrease the long-held power dynamics that have existed in the philanthropic sector. Throughout the years, SIF has directed more than $52 million in cash and in kind services to more than 106 social impact organizations. Currently, SIF supports 211 local nonprofits in our Nonprofit Network. Our work is grounded in a series of core beliefs about the systems of inequity at the root of many social issues and the need for all of us (including nonprofit staff, boards, funders, volunteers, etc.) to seek out continuous learning (and unlearning) about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) including our own role in these systems.
