Dr. Kirschbaum is the Director of the Tsongas Industrial History Center (TIHC), an education partnership of UMass Lowell’s College of Education and Lowell National Historical Park. The TIHC offers hands-on, place-based experiences that use Lowell’s history to explore American industrialization and its relevance today. Sheila brings a strong education and interpretive background to the Trust’s board.

Dr. Kirschbaum’s Favorite LP&CT Story: “Many times I’ve stood with a group of teachers from across the country on a hill in the Lowell Cemetery overlooking the Concord River.  We talk about the history of the industrial use of the Concord and we point out the Concord River Greenway which the LP&CT made happen.”
