Meet the Author…and the Turtles!

Join us at lala books to meet Diana Renn, local author of Trouble at Turtle Pond.

Author Diana Renn will discuss and show us how she melded fiction writing with her activism and research of endangered turtles. She was inspired by her son’s Blanding’s turtle head-starting program in school, which resulted in her children’s mystery novel, Trouble at Turtle Pond.  This middle-grade novel shows the importance of friendship and the empowerment of taking a stand.

The Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust has head-started Blanding’s Turtles for the last three years in partnership with Zoo New England. This year’s hatchlings will be released back to their wild habitat in June, but not before visiting lala books for this event! You will have a chance to see a ten-month old Blanding’s hatchling and ask our environmental educators and volunteers any questions you may have about these turtles.

This event is a collaborative effort with lala books, the Friends of the Pollard Memorial Library, and the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust.

Copies of Trouble at Turtle Pond are currently available at lala books.

RSVP’s not required, but appreciated.
