VOTE for the TURTLES in the Chamber of Commerce video contest.

Last summer we rescued a nest of eight Blanding’s turtles.  We’ve been ‘headstarting’ them in the office to help them get a leg up before they are released back into the wild this spring.

Blanding’s are threatened species, so we’re fortunate to have great support from state agencies, as well as Zoo New England.

Please enjoy our new LIVE WEBCAM. Watch it anytime you want, 7am-9pm.

This is the “odds” tank with the odd-numbered turtles, thus the numbers.  The shells on these turtles are about 3-3.5″ long now. By the time they are released into the wild in the spring, they’ll be the size of a four-year-old turtle.

They are fed in the morning and in the afternoon by a great team of dedicated volunteers.   You might get to see them being fed or wrestling each other, or just basking under their UV light on their ‘deck’ above water.

Have fun watching!
