December 2016 – Thanks to volunteers from Constellation, an Exelon Company, for building a viewing platform for students overlooking our West Meadow property’s vernal pool.

Constellation volunteers built a viewing platform at the vernal pool at West Meadow.

The new platform will allow our students to take samples and make observations without disturbing the fragile vernal pool environment.

The vernal pool is a great location to learn about habitat, macro-invertebrates, amphibians, and aquatic plants.

Constellation has committed to offering quarterly volunteer opportunities for their employees at Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust properties.

We thank Constellation for their generous commitment to helping us improve the quality of life in Lowell.
