This year’s Annual Meeting (November 13, 2018) focused on climate change.  Alexandra Vecchio, Climate Change Program Coordinator with Mass Audubon was our guest speaker.  Her presentation focused on making climate change more relevant to our daily lives and something we can feel comfortable talking about.

We also heard from Amina Bangura, a junior at Lowell High School who also participates in our Lowell Leaders in Stewardship after-school program.  Amina was able to participate in the Land Science program last summer, which was offered by Girls, Inc of Greater Lowell in partnership with Mass Audubon and LP&CT.  Teens were exposed to real-life urban planning through a computer program simulation that uses actual data from the City of Lowell.  Land Science provides a great opportunity for teens to explore career options, urban planning, and civic engagement.
