Event Date:

Start Time: 2:00 PM

End Time: 4:00 PM

Location: Spalding House
383 Pawtucket Street, Lowell, MA

Did you know that the Spalding House was built circa 1760 and is Lowell’s third oldest home?

Visit this colonial museum during an open house to discover the history of the property and its unique connection with Pawtucket Falls and the Merrimack River.  You’ll learn how the relationship between people and the river has shifted over the years; from providing abundant fish to abundant hydro-power.

Explore this relationship, and more, as we open up the Spalding House for self-guided tours and family-friendly activities, usually the second Sunday of every month.

*Due to scheduling conflicts the next two months (Nov & Dec) Spalding House Second Sundays will be held on the first Sunday instead of the usual date.*

Our Second Sunday program in November:

Join us on Sunday, November 2nd, from for a special open house. Come take a self-guided tour to learn about the fascinating history of the occupants who lived here. We will also have a volunteer on hand to answer all your fiber questions while demonstrating the historic craft of spinning fiber into yarn. And since it’s an election year in Lowell, be sure to stop by and see our vintage ballot box to learn about how voting was done without paper—a system that some organizations still utilize today! We look forward to seeing you there.

Additional Open House dates this fall:

Sunday, December 7th
