What happens after water goes down the drain?

Join Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust and the Massachusetts Water Environment Association for a screening of Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong, a documentary that takes viewers inside the often-unseen world of wastewater treatment and the people who work around the clock to protect public health and our environment.

Filmed over two years at the East End Wastewater Treatment Facility in Portland, Maine, the film offers a behind-the-scenes look at the systems and people responsible for managing our wastewater and the important connection between infrastructure, water resources, and the health of our communities.

Following the film, stay for a Q&A with panelists from the clean water industry, community planning, and academia. The discussion will explore wastewater infrastructure, water resources, and utility resilience.

The event is being held in celebration of Imagine a Day Without Water, a national day of action highlighting the importance of reliable water infrastructure and access to clean water.

Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the screening beginning at 6:30 PM
